Women in the Church

REGULAR EVENTS

Thursday Morning Bible Study
10:00 a.m - 11:35 a.m. Every Thursday beginning 9/16 except when schools are closed. Come early for a cup of coffee! Discussion groups and teaching time begin at 10am. Studying I and II Peter. Nursery available for infants, classes for ages 2-4. Any questions? Contact Mary Heerdt

Tuesday Evening Bible Study
Every 4th Tuesday beginning 9/28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Church Library. Studying Proverbs in the Fall. January 2011 studying Tim Keller's book The Prodigal God. Contact Jana Dee Barnes

Encouragers
Every second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Education Building. Reaching out in Christian love and concern to the church family and those who are held dear to them. Making gifts and giving to those who are ill, discouraged or in a time of trial. The women pray for each recipient and for those who have a special prayer request at the time. The Encouragers welcome women of all ages - youth to seniors - to help in this ministry. All that is required is a heart for others to let them know someone cares.

Women In the Word
You are invited to come to “Women in the Word: A Workshop” on October 1-2 at Calvary! "Women in the Word" is committed to helping you continue to learn to “correctly handle the word of truth” so that God’s Word can bring joy, understanding, and revival to your heart and to others. Whether you are new to the process of interpreting the Bible or are a seasoned Bible Study teacher, this workshop is for you! Constance Wieler will be speaking on “From Shadow to Reality: A Study in the Book of Hebrews”. Teaching sessions and Study Groups are interspersed so you can experience and practice digging into a Biblical text with others. Libbie Groves (professor of Hebrew at Westminster and dramatic reader of Scripture) will be teaching the Pre-Workshop "Where Do I Begin? Finding the Central Idea" on Friday at 12:30 pm. Pray for our own Sue Logan, Judy Hertzog and Rachel Vendsel who will be small group leaders. Hope to see many of you there! Register by August 7th!
