Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. (Psalm 96:1–2)
For many years Calvary has enjoyed an annual Corn Roast to mark the beginning of our new ministry season. Prior to this event, many of us had no clue how delicious ears of corn roasted over the fire within their husks could be! After a hiatus last year, this annual event is set for Saturday, September 6 at 5:30 pm. Children and youth can bring their games and equipment to play together in the yard. It is always a great event for inviting family & friends of all ages, and for conversations with Calvary friends after summer vacations.
This year, after we have eaten our fill, we will add a component of singing together around a campfire.
The Bible refers to singing over 400 times and gives us 50 explicit commands to sing. It is clear that God intends for his people to sing. We are grateful that Calvary Willow Grove is a singing church. Therefore, following our annual Corn Roast, we will gather around a campfire and sing many hymns together. We extend a loving invitation to our friends, family, and neighbors to “come sing with us!”
